Budgie Folk Miniatures — Epic Miniatures - Ottsworkshop

Picture this in your next arcane encounter: your players round a corner in a dusty market district and come face to face with a tiny, feathered spellcaster barely reaching their knees — beak set in a determined scowl, clawed hands crackling with magic. That's exactly the energy these Budgie Folk miniatures bring to the table.

Budgie folk Miniature | A - Tabletop RPG & D&D miniature. Perfect for wargaming & collectors

This set from Epic Miniatures gives you three distinct sculpts, each with a genuinely different role. One stands in a casting pose with one hand raised and a gnarled staff at its back — you can clearly see the flame-like wisps sculpted into the raised hand, and the detail on the feathered texture across the body is brilliant. Another holds a large scroll and a quill in both clawed hands, robes billowing dramatically — a perfect scribe, sage, or nervous herald. The third sits low and hunched, clutching a twisted staff with a looped top, looking every bit the ancient elder who knows far more than they're letting on.

There's something genuinely charming about bird-folk in fantasy settings. Avian humanoids have popped up in folklore and mythology across cultures for centuries — clever, quick-tongued creatures often associated with knowledge, trickery, or hidden wisdom. A budgerigar-headed spellcaster fits that tradition perfectly, and frankly adds a bit of welcome personality to any encounter that might otherwise feel a bit generic.

All three sculpts sit on a medium 25.5mm base, which means they'll slot right into standard D&D or Pathfinder encounters without any fuss. The feather and scale texturing is consistent across all three, so they read as a proper set when fielded together. If you're building out a birdfolk-themed warband or faction, these three cover caster, scholar, and elder archetypes in one go — that's a lot of table presence for a single purchase.

We print these in-house here at Otts Workshop, so quality is something we keep a close eye on. The fine detail on things like the rope cord at the waist, the layered robe folds, and the individual feathers around the face all come through cleanly. These aren't the kind of miniatures where you're squinting and hoping — the sculpt does the work.

If you fancy something in a similar birdfolk vein but with a heavier, more martial feel, the Owl Folk Fighter Paladin Wizard by Goons is worth a look — a different take on avian adventurers with a bit more armour and a lot more brooding owl energy.

Whether you're using them as NPCs, rival spellcasters, or the eccentric leaders of a feathered cult your players accidentally offended — these three are a brilliant addition to any collection. Head over and grab them while they're in stock.
