These little blighters are genuinely a joy to paint. The Goblin Hunter miniatures from Duncan Shadows come in three distinct sculpts, each with enough surface variety to keep you busy — layered leaf cloaks, rough leather armour, chunky belts, and those wonderfully expressive faces all give a brush somewhere interesting to go. Whether you're hitting them with contrast paints for a quick tabletop standard or pushing the highlights on that toothy grin, there's real reward in each one.

Scale-wise, these sit comfortably alongside standard 28–32mm fantasy ranges. The stocky proportions lean chunky rather than slender, which actually makes them forgiving to paint and gives them a great sense of weight on the table. The hood detailing reads cleanly even at arm's length, which is exactly what you want when these lads are lurking at the back of a dungeon encounter.

Goblins in folklore have always been ambush predators — small, sneaky, and surprisingly dangerous in numbers. Duncan Shadows leans into that perfectly here. These feel less like cannon fodder and more like genuine woodland threats, the kind that would lure an unwary party into a bad situation before they even knew what hit them.

Each sculpt has its own personality. One is grinning wide with a serrated blade raised, another has a more menacing closed-mouth expression clutching what looks like a short stabbing weapon, and the third has that brilliant sulky look — mouth open, tongue out, clearly unimpressed. All three wear the same leaf-layered cloak that ties the unit together visually. If you're building a full Orc & Goblin warband, these hunters would make a brilliant skirmish screen or ambush unit.

If you fancy a slightly different flavour of goblin, our Goblin Raiders from Tytan Troll are worth a look — more of a raiding mob feel compared to these sneaky forest stalkers.

Duncan Shadows consistently delivers sculpts that have genuine character without tipping into comedy territory. That balance is harder to pull off than it looks, and it's why their range keeps selling well here. You can browse the full Duncan Shadows miniatures collection if you want to see what else they've put out — there's plenty to build a coherent army or encounter set from.
