Guard Miniatures

Guards are armed personnel employed to protect people, property, and locations from theft, violence, and unauthorised access. Their responsibilities range from static post duty at gates, vaults, and noble residences to active patrol of streets, trade routes, and prison facilities. The quality and equipment of guards varies enormously by employer — city watch members enforcing civil law operate differently from elite household guards protecting a wealthy merchant or the hardened soldiers manning a frontier fortress. In fantasy RPG settings, guards represent the most visible layer of institutional authority in towns, cities, and settlements, and their competence, corruption, or loyalty frequently shapes how accessible a location is to adventurers. They appear in campaigns involving urban infiltration, prison breaks, political intrigue, criminal investigations, and the everyday friction between those who enforce the rules and those who find it advantageous to circumvent them.
