Some miniatures stop you mid-scroll. Mr Sweets is one of them. A hulking, animate cupcake with fists made of sprinkle-crusted dough and a birthday candle flickering on top — it shouldn't work, and yet it absolutely does.

The idea of a golem built from confectionery rather than stone or clay is genuinely one of those concepts that sounds ridiculous right up until you place it on the table and watch your players' faces. Candy golems, sugar constructs, sentient baked goods — call them what you like — have a long history in folklore-adjacent storytelling as the kind of monster that lulls adventurers into a false sense of security. That's part of what makes this sculpt so brilliant. It looks fun. It is fun. And then it's swinging a giant lollipop at someone's paladin.

Epic Miniatures designed three distinct sculpts for this release, all sharing the same cupcake-body silhouette but each with its own pose and personality. Sculpt #5784 is a mid-stride fighter with one arm raised and a smaller candy weapon in hand — lots of energy in that pose. Sculpt #5785 goes full intimidation, arms wide and fists raised in a classic power stance. Sculpt #5786 is the one wielding the oversized lollipop like a club, mid-swing and clearly done being friendly. All three sit on a large 51mm base and have brilliant texture contrast between the smooth frosting folds and the rough, crumbly sprinkle surfaces on the limbs and hands.

For painting, the smooth frosting areas on the head and body are genuinely a gift — they take layering and glazing really cleanly and you can go as pastel or as garish as your table aesthetic calls for. The sprinkle-covered sections on the arms and feet reward a stippling approach or a drybrush pass to pick out the individual granules. A birthday candle on top gives you a small focal point worth spending a bit of time on. These are Epic Miniatures sculpts, so the detail is crisp and holds up well at this scale.
If you're already running something with an icy or elemental construct theme alongside this, the large Ice Golem by Goons pairs really well — different aesthetic entirely but the same kind of oversized, lumbering presence on the table.
Mr Sweets fits brilliantly as a dungeon boss in a candy-themed lair, a market encounter gone very wrong, or honestly any situation where you want to genuinely surprise your group. Browse the rest of our monster miniatures if you're building out a collection — there's plenty more where this came from.
All three sculpts are available now. If you want all of them, the group shot gives you a good sense of how well they work together as a set.
