"The Fly" refers to two main works: a 1957 science fiction short story by George Langelaan and its subsequent film adaptations. The story delves into the horrific consequences of a teleportation experiment gone awry.
In both the story and the 1958 film adaptation, scientist André Delambre accidentally merges his DNA with that of a housefly during a teleportation experiment, resulting in a grotesque and tragic transformation. The 1986 remake follows a similar premise, where scientist Seth Brundle undergoes a similar transformation after a teleportation mishap.
The narrative explores themes of scientific hubris, the fear of losing one‘s humanity, and the consequences of tampering with the unknown. The human-fly hybrid, with its insectoid features and deteriorating mental state, becomes a symbol of the grotesque and the uncanny.
The 1958 film, directed by Kurt Neumann, utilized special effects of the era to depict the gradual transformation of André Delambre into a human-fly hybrid, leaving a lasting impact on the horror genre. David Cronenberg‘s 1986 remake, while deviating from the original, showcased advanced special effects and amplified the visceral horror, reimagining the narrative with a darker and more explicit tone.

The base and miniature are not permanently attached to each other. Multiple part figures are shipped in pieces to ensure they arrive undamaged. For assembly, we recommend using cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) rather than modeling glue. We remove all sprues before shipping, but some tiny marks may remain due to the printing process. These can be easily removed with a light sanding using sanding sticks.
Some of our larger models are hollowed out to minimize wear and tear on our machines, but they still have a lattice framework inside for added strength and rigidity. Our UK team, comprised of a passionate engineer, his dedicated father, and input from local DnD enthusiasts, strives to provide the best quality miniatures at the most affordable price.
Miniature are made out of Anycubic Resin and has the potential to have uncured spots this can easily be cured with sunlight. but if for any instance uncured resin is touched or inhaled please refer to Datasheet provide on Anycubic website.
