The origins of the Mummy as a horror concept are deeply rooted in ancient Egyptian culture, where the preservation of bodies was a religious practice. However, the modern portrayal, notably popularized in films, deviates significantly from historical context.

In film and literature, the Mummy is typically depicted as an undead creature, revived through supernatural means, often cursed due to desecration of their tomb or forbidden knowledge. They are wrapped in bandages, embodying an eerie, shuffling figure seeking vengeance or attempting to regain lost powers.

One of the most famous iterations is Universal Pictures‘ 1932 film "The Mummy," where the mummy, Imhotep, seeks to resurrect his lost love. Boris Karloff‘s portrayal as Imhotep set the standard for the "undying" and "cursed" Mummy archetype.

This figure has evolved over the years, with variations in subsequent films, exploring themes of forbidden knowledge, the supernatural, and the consequences of disturbing ancient resting places. Whether portrayed as a tragic figure seeking redemption or a vengeful monster, the Mummy remains a symbol of the fear of death, the supernatural, and the unknown, captivating audiences and inspiring various adaptations across multiple media.

Extra information and Health and safety

The base and miniature are not permanently attached to each other. Multiple part figures are shipped in pieces to ensure they arrive undamaged. For assembly, we recommend using cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) rather than modeling glue. We remove all sprues before shipping, but some tiny marks may remain due to the printing process. These can be easily removed with a light sanding using sanding sticks.

Some of our larger models are hollowed out to minimize wear and tear on our machines, but they still have a lattice framework inside for added strength and rigidity. Our UK team, comprised of a passionate engineer, his dedicated father, and input from local DnD enthusiasts, strives to provide the best quality miniatures at the most affordable price.

Miniature are made out of Anycubic Resin and has the potential to have uncured spots this can easily be cured with sunlight. but if for any instance uncured resin is touched or inhaled please refer to Datasheet provide on Anycubic website.
